Welcome to Murphy Junior High School!

 

Here at Murphy, it is our mission to cultivate an inclusive, supportive community, promoting success by ensuring all of our students are prepared for their college and career endeavors.

Our rigorous instruction and student-centered support are built to help students thrive academically. Through a variety of clubs and sports, we provide opportunities for students to challenge themselves outside of the classroom, as well. 

Prior to my time in this district, I was both a teacher and dean of students in Valley View School District 365U. I came to SD 308 in 2013, where I began my time in the district as an assistant principal at Bednarcik Junior High School before coming to Murphy as an assistant principal. Now, I am in my sixth year as Murphy’s principal.

I am fortunate to have staff who are truly invested in our students. We focus on working together, collaborating, and creating leadership paths for ourselves and our students.

 

I hope our students follow the MAVS core values in everything they do and follow their dreams beyond education. I want each of them to be individuals who live life to the fullest with success and career opportunities that build on their strengths. Although we may only be part of our students’ lives for three years, my hope is that each one of them carries the valuable skills and lessons learned at Murphy in their next chapter.
